I woke up to a barrage of screaming cats, each of them trying to outshout the others. I squinted my eyes against the beams of morning light coming in through the crack under my door and slowly got up, gathering my blanket around me.
As usual, my cats had already encroached upon my bed for the night - an obnoxious habit of theirs. Groaning, I shooed them away and tearing away my cocoon of warmth, tried to make some sense of my room.
The books, mostly science and engineering texts, lay scattered around me in a disorderly pile of their own. I beamed proudly, pleased at how much I had soaked up of the fascinating knowledge the night before. It was like a thirst that was never quenched, only further wanting more.
I stretched my limbs, arching my back as I walked out. I strolled through the drizzling rain, admiring the dull grey sky, the lush green covers that came to life with the rain, all the while humming a tune to myself.
I went to the small lab I had set up in the corner of my room and began cracking various jokes amongst my scientist friends. We were discussing absolute nonsense, the kind that made no sense, yet somehow, connected unbelievably to the grand scheme of things.
I shoved my hands in my pockets and gazed out the window, dreaming of the day I would make it to Mars. I pictured myself flying through the stars, dancing along the glimmering arcs, singing, screaming, and laughing at all the ridiculousness.
While my scientific experiments were a passion of mine, I was equally just as into rock music, sculpture, gardening, airplanes, politics, computers, night flying, astronomy, puns, experiments, cats, chemistry, trivia games, making music, playing video games, and pranking people. I felt like my hobbies spoke more about me than my academic career.
I hopped onto my broomstick and began to soar through the air, feeling the air underneath me swell. I whizzed past the trees and other creatures of the night. This was the freedom I craved.
This blissful night was gradually coming to an end and I had to be back home before the sun rose.As I spread my wings over my cozy abode and flew off, I thought to myself that it was time for a snack - a snack to ease all the stress away.
Cheers to Mootzulea, the vampire from Transylvania.
A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
He knows a lot of jokes but is very determined into battles. He is passionate about science and has a lot of scientist friends. Therefore, you will have an increased production of scientists. He dreams of going to Mars one day.
