Vampirix diary Mary Read

Ah, life here in Transylvania. It's never boring, let me tell you! I wake up each morning, ready to explore the hills surrounding my home. Today was especially exciting though- I was able to find a new favorite spot for my sculpture work. I had spent the morning among the trees, gathering wood and materials for a new project.

When I was finished, I had created the most fabulous sculpture you have ever seen. It was a combination of rocks, sticks, and feathers put together to look like a butterfly. I find nature so fascinating, and it always inspires me in my art.

I sat back, admiring my work, when I heard a noise coming from the sky above. My vampirix senses told me it was an airplane. I jumped up, excited for the brief distraction. Quickly, I flew to the top of the nearest tree to get a better view. Sure enough, it was an airplane, flying low and slow.

I waved my arms madly, trying to get the pilot's attention. Miraculously, the plane veered off its course and headed directly towards me. I couldn't believe my luck!

The plane circled me, and I waved vigorously. Finally, the pilot yelled out the window, "We need your help, vampire! We've run out of gas and crashed in the area."

My scientist friends had told me to expect anything in Transylvania and so, without thinking twice, I agreed to help them. I motioned for them to land in the nearby clearing.

In minutes, they were safely on the ground. I showed them my sculpture and made them laugh with a few of jokes. Then I explained my plan.

I had saved the rocks, sticks, feathers and other items I'd found without knowing why. Now, I was going to use them to build a flying machine.

One of the crew members was a doctor. He managed to find some supplies in the plane and soon we had built a makeshift rocket. We loaded it up with all the materials we had found and prayed that it worked.

Well, the prayers must have worked because we blasted off into the night sky. We flew high and fast, faster than any airplane. Soon enough, we were in the Moon's orbit. We circled it a few times, and then started making our way back.

When we landed, the moonlight shone down upon us and we cheered! We'd done it, we'd made it.

And so now, each night, I launch my homemade rocket off into the sky. I explore the Moon's surface, dizzy with excitement and joy. As I soar high above the hills of Transylvania, I am filled with the knowledge that anything is possible.

That's the conclusion of today's story from Mootzulea the vampirix. Until next time, keep your eyes on the stars!
