I started this day just like any other, waking up with an appetite for stress. I headed into town, greeting the other local vampires with a cheerful "good morning," before settling down at my favorite spot in the park.
My spot was usually a great place to find stress - a must for any vampire - but today something was off. I could feel it, even from a distance. Undeterred, I entered and listened intently. After a few moments, I realized what was missing: laughter!
Unbelievable! I knew that without laughter and fun, stress was just a passing visitor. With a sigh, I realized it was up to me to get things rolling.
I quickly set to work, spinning up a few jokes to get the conversation going - puns, science jokes, pop-culture references - nothing was off-limits! Soon, even the most brooding of vampires had to crack a smile.
After some hearty laughter, we all turned our attention to other activities. My friends don't share my love of rock music, so I pulled out my ukulele and strummed through some old favorites.
We also discussed politics and science, and because I'm a bit of a daredevil when it comes to my experiments, I regaled them with stories of airplanes, mid-air flips, and night-flying. It was hours before I realized it was getting late, so I dropped them all off with a mischievous prank.
As I wandered home, I couldn't help but feel satisfied - this vampire had conquered the stress-drought after-all! And I still had plenty of time to finish off the night with a few rounds of video games, a little sculpture and perhaps some astronomy to start dreaming of my future trip to Mars.
