Today was a weird day. I decided to try out a new experiment I've been planning for a while now- making a robot spaceship capable of flight. I had acquired all the necessary parts for the project, so I decided to give it a try.
The first thing I did was assemble the body of the robot- an old tin can with a few wires attached to the 'head' part that I had fashioned out of scrap metal. Then, I connected the 'head' to the body with wires and used a string to tie them together. And, finally, I added in some wings- made from an old pillow case- that I had decorated with stars and planets.
The final result was a strange looking robot spaceship that resembled a small UFO. I named it 'Space Explorers' and decided to give it a test run.
I headed out to my garden in the hills of Transylvania, took a deep breath, and said a few words of encouragement to the little robot before launching it for its first flight. To my surprise, it actually flew. I followed it with my eyes until it was so far up in the sky that I could barely make out its shape.
The experience of watching my tiny robot travel up in the sky was amazing. Seeing the stars up close and feeling the breeze on my face gave me a calming feeling. I indulged in the moment and allowed myself to forget the stresses of everyday life.I realized in that moment that night flying had always been a distraction for me- a way to calm my stress levels.
When the robot finally landed back in the garden, I was amazed by how much distance it had covered. I cheered in celebration and thanked the stars for the success of my experiment.I couldn't wait to tinker around with Space Explorers, and plan out its next mission. It was moments like this one where I felt the most alive. I felt inspired and content.
Until next time,
