Ah, another day in the seemingly-endless hillside of Transylvania, with the always-encroaching fog. It's times like these that I truly appreciate my unique heritage as a Vampirix, albeit a distant cousin to my more famous king, Dracula. I don't take almost any of my ability to survive in the sunlight for granted. I often joke with some of my scientist friends that if I had succumbed to vampire-ism, I would be the least dangerous specimen ever - for, in the grand scheme of things, who could be scared of a vampire who only eats stress? But ah, enough of that!
Today, my stubbornness was truly tested in the form of my nemesis, the potted plant. Since finding it in the old manor, I had been on my best behavior, and even went so far as to not prank my friends for an entire week. Unbeknownst to me, the plant decided it would be the most opportune day to start speaking. To my disbelief, it started doling out chemical advice like it had just earned a PhD from a prestigious university. Fuming, I hucked that thing clear off my hill - scaring a few bats and small birds in the process.
For the remainder of the day, I decided I would instead focus on my passions. Rock music, sculpture, gardening, airplanes, politics, computers, night flying, astronomy, puns, experiments, cats, chemistry trivia games, making music, playing video games - you get the idea. I was stewing in my den, completely surrounded by beakers and bubbling pule, when I had a stroke of pure genius. I pivoted all my attention to designing a spaceship, one that I truly believed could go to Mars one day. I'm not sure how many hours I spent with my scrawled notes and diagrams, but eventually I felt that I had come up with a solid plan.
But truth be told, I'm a lot surprised at how the day ended up. Dancing around the bonfire near my den with some of my neighbors, we laughed, joked, and even played some silly jokes on one another. After a few glasses of Gruyere punch, I decided to call it an evening. I floated into the night, with plans for that fated space trip on my mind and a belly full of laughter.
Until tomorrow, my friends.
