Mootzulea`s Journal

Vampirix diary Mary Read

08 Oct 2023

I have to say, it has been a strange day. First of all, I woke up in a car parked in the middle of a cornfield. Now, I know what you're thinking - "a vampire in a cornfield? Seems dangerous!" True enough, but I love corn. I've been known to take late night corn-eating strolls through these very fields.

This morning, however, it wasn't a regular late night stroll. I had been out doing some experiments, studying the effects of sleep deprivation on vampire stress-eating habits and had passed out mid-experiment (I guess vampires need sleep too). I arrived in the cornfield in my sleep - I think I must have levitated there subconsciously.

My eyebrows were raised when I saw a large gathering of crows surrounding me. Was I part of an elaborate bird sacrifice ritual? Nope - turns out they had come to hear my scientist friends lecture on their latest research. It was an accidental performance of sorts, and I had to admit I went with it.

I ended my impromptu presentation with a joke, took a few questions from the crows, and then we all flew away. I indulged in a few more corn-snacks on the way back home, obviously, and spent the rest of the day working on my new rock album.

The sun is finally setting over the Transylvanian hills and I’m ready for some rest after today’s adventures. Tonight I'll go tripping around the night sky and I have an experiment to finish involving puns and cats. It's going to be an exciting one!
