It was a night like any other. As much as I enjoyed the darkness, I had to get up and start my day. It felt like I was the only one making any noise around here, and it was surreal in a way.
I prepared for my usual morning ritual. I gathered my lab coat, my laptop, and my science books, loaded my go-bag and went against the night. I'm a small type of vampire, a Mootzulea, so I don't get less energy from the sunlight; instead, I get more.
Today was going to be special. I was finally going to visit my scientist friends at the research lab. I prepped my airplane for the flight, and I took off. I was feeling very excited because I was going to explore new technologies and learn all about the latest findings in science.
But that was not the only thing I was looking forward to. I also knew I was going to get to hear the latest jokes and puns; my scientist buddies were really good at those kinds of things. And, since I love puns and jokes, I was really looking forward to this part of the journey.
But, when I arrived at the research lab, I was in for a surprise. My friends had a bigger plan. They said they were going to make us human-sized bats who could fly to Mars.
I don't know how they managed to keep this a surprise from me, but I was thrilled when they explained their plan. We were going to be flying through the stars, and all the latest technologies were going to be used to make sure we could pull it off.
It was a perfect plan. We worked all day long and finally, after a full night and day of scientific research, we were ready to make our journey to Mars.
We took off, and it was everything I ever dreamed of: a night of star-studded skies, the hum of our engines roaring in the distance, and a wealth of knowledge being exchanged from one side of the universe to the other.
It was the most amazing experience of a lifetime, and I'm so glad I made it. Now, if only I could find a way to get back home one day without any help from my friends!
