I woke up early this morning, feeling a bit stiff. I had heard all the talk about planes, computers and night flying and figured it was only a matter of time before I could join my friends on their escapades. I was pretty pleased with myself for finally being able to achieve my dream and fly around night skies.
To celebrate, I thought I would go and grab some breakfast. I made my way down to the kitchen only to find the cupboard and fridge strangely empty! I must have dozed off for too long!
My stomach grumbled and I knew I had to find something to eat. But what? I put on my best cape and ventured out into the dark, twilight-lit street. I heard some faint laughter coming from the shop down the road. I decided to investigate, and sure enough, inside the shop was a vampire scientist!
He was busy tinkering away at what looked like the beginning of a new joke. It involved a scientist and a vampire and how they were able to transform one type of energy into another. I decided to join in on the fun and soon enough, we were all laughing uproariously.
After a while, the scientist, whose name was Igor, suggested we take a break and grab some food. I didn’t need to be asked twice! We found a nearby cafe and loaded up on blood-flavored ice cream and other goodies.
When we were done, Igor graciously offered to take me home. I thanked him and we set off in his plane. We flew high above the Transylvanian hills and I got to experience the beauty of the night sky. As we flew, Igor told me more about science, astronomy and politics. The conversations was both informative and entertaining.
By the time we made it to my house, the sun was close to rising. I thanked Igor for the wonderful experience and after saying our goodbyes, I went inside and went to bed.
As I lay there, I smiled to myself. Then I realized, that was a pretty good day for a vampire.

A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
