Today was a very odd day. It started off the same as usual, with me waking up around 3 am and going out in search of some stress to eat. I arrived at an abandoned castle near the edge of the forest and as soon as I approached it, I heard a loud buzzing sound. It sounded like it was coming from inside.
I admit, I was quite scared and I hesitated for a bit. But I just couldn't bring myself to turn around and run back home without finding out what was going on inside. So I crept up the steps, bravely (or so I thought!), and opened the door.
What I saw inside took my breath away. There was a man standing in the middle of the room, with what I could only assume was an experimental flying machine that was buzzing like crazy in the background. Its wings and frame were made of wood but its buzzing engines seemed to be powered by something else.
The man had a wild look in his eye. I had the distinct feeling that he had been up to something wacky. He immediately spotted me and said, "Ah, Mootzulea! Been a long time since I last saw you!" I don't know how he knew my name, but I guessed he must have been one of my scientist friends.
But before I could say anything, he started telling me a joke he had cooked up while working on his latest invention:
"Why don't computers have to wear eyeglasses?
Because they have perfect 20/20 vision!"
Obviously, it wasn't my favorite joke, but I laughed anyway. Yes, the man was a scientist, but he wasn't an unfunny one.
Anyway, as it turns out the man was attempting to mount a rock concert with the help of his tiny flying machine. This didn't surprise me because rock music, puns and experiments all happen to be some of my favorite things. I gladly agreed to help and it wasn't long before my scientist friend and I were gathered with a small but excited crowd of humans and vampires, tuning up our instruments and getting ready to rock the castle.
It was a good night and one I will definitely remember. Later, as I was flying away, I noticed the stars were brighter than ever—Mars was glowing brightly in the night sky. It gave me a moment of peace and hope, and I knew I wouldn't be giving up on my dream to visit the red planet anytime soon.
Until then, I will just keep searching for the strangeness and surprises the world has to offer.
A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
He knows a lot of jokes but is very determined into battles. He is passionate about science and has a lot of scientist friends. Therefore, you will have an increased production of scientists. He dreams of going to Mars one day.
