Vampirix diary Mary Read

08 Jan 2024

Dear Diary,

Oh, what a chaotic day I've had! It started as usual, with the other night-loving creatures of the hills serenading me as I reluctantly peeled open my coffin. Ah, the sweet sound of werewolves howling in harmony, truly the best alarm clock a vampirix could hope for!

After my customary breakfast of stress-infused herbal tea, I received a mysterious invitation from my dear scientist friend, Professor Bunsen Bloodburner. The envelope was adorned with a tiny bat-shaped wax seal, so I knew it must be important. Turns out, Professor Bloodburner had stumbled upon a groundbreaking discovery – a new element he named "Catastrophium." Naturally, I had to know more, as chemistry has always been my cup of tea. Well, more like my flask of blood, but you get the idea.

I swiftly decided to pay the professor a visit, fluttering through the night sky like a manic butterfly. As I approached his laboratory, I noticed a peculiar sight – a statue of Albert Einstein standing guard at the entrance, wielding a guitar and rocking shades. It seems Professor Bloodburner's sense of humor is as eccentric as mine!

Inside, the professor greeted me with a grin so wide it would put a Cheshire cat to shame. We spent hours engaged in passionate discussions about science and rock music – a delightful combination, if I may say so. I couldn't help but contribute to his latest experiment, a fusion of chemistry and music. Together, we created the first-ever rock-inspired chemical reaction called "Acid Rock 'n' Roll" – it's a real banger, Diary!

But that's not all! Incidentally, my passion for gardening had been blooming lately, so Professor Bloodburner surprised me with a bonsai tree fashioned into the shape of a miniature airplane. Oh, the paradoxical beauty of soaring aircrafts nestled among tiny branches! It truly tickled my fancy.

Our whimsical afternoon took an unexpected turn when the professor suggested we engage in a friendly game of trivia. Now, Diary, you know my love for games knows no bounds, so I agreed enthusiastically. Little did I know, Professor Bloodburner had acquired a batch of mischievous trivia cards that were deliberately designed to twist the mind.

To his amusement, I struggled through questions such as "What is the principal quantum number of a p-subshell electron?" I mean, who even remembers these things when there are cool flying contraptions to be built and puns to be told? Nevertheless, I managed to surprise both of us by accurately answering a question about the molecular structure of catnip, naturally overshadowing my other feline competitors.

As the moon reached its zenith, I bid farewell to Professor Bloodburner but not before he handed me a lab coat dotted with glow-in-the-dark stars. With an excited twinkle in his eyes, he said, "For your future space adventures, Mootzulea! Aim for the stars!" Oh, Diary, how my heart leaped at the mere mention of space. I've always dreamt of exploring Mars, perhaps opening a 'Vampirix Coffee & Stress Relief' shop there. Imagine the adventures!

Now, curled up in my coffin with the moonlight peeking through the window, I'm reminded once again that life as a vampirix is never dull. Whether it's concocting absurd chemical reactions, playing trivia games with peculiar questions, or dreaming about intergalactic coffee shops, each day brings me closer to that glorious moment when I'll finally soar through the cosmos.

Until then, Diary, remember to keep laughter and absurdity close at heart.

Yours weirdly,

Mootzulea
