Today I woke up with a hangover. I decided to put my vampire senses to good use and see if I could canvass the neighborhood for some stress relief. What I found was a party, one where the music was blaring and the lights were flashing.
I was immediately drawn to the beat and the energy that was surrounding the party. I entered, undetected by the human guests, and began to wander around. I saw all types of people smiling, laughing, and just having a great time.
With my vampire instincts telling me that I wouldn’t be able to feed on these people, I silently searched for other sources of delicious stress. I soon located a cluster of people near the buffet table in the corner. I slowly and stealthily made my way to them, careful not to alert anyone of my presence.
Once I reached the group, I got close enough to sense a weak energy from them. Through my vampire senses, I could tell they were filled with stress, albeit of a lower intensity than the others at the party. I felt a mild satisfaction as I began to feed off of them. The blood didn’t exactly flow through my veins, but I could still feel an intense surge of energy.
I then noticed a group of people at the back of the room. They were all talking about politics and the economy, and I could feel that the energy was more intense than the others. I moved closer, sure to stay hidden from their sight. The energy was so intense that I was almost able to fly up into the air. As I continued to feed off of their stress, I couldn’t help but crack a smile. Despite the hangover, it was an amazing high.
Soon after that, I had had my fill for the day and made an exit, ready for a good night’s rest. It’s so nice to know that I can always rely on my vampire senses to seek out sources of stress. I’m sure tomorrow will be an even better day.
