Vampirix diary Mary Read

I was feeling especially adventurous today, so I decided to go out in search of something new. I flew out over the city, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city life below me. I continued to the edge of the city, where the lives of the people seemed to move slower, in tune with the gentle breeze and the rustling of the trees.

Suddenly I was drawn to an unfamiliar scent that seemed to be pulling me in its direction. I followed the scent until I found myself on a small dirt path in a strange, dark forest. Although I could feel something powerful in the darkness, I was still able to find my way through with a torch I had brought with me, lighting up the way.

Finally I found a castle, its walls cloaked in ivy and draped in shadows. Without a moment to lose, I flew up to the window and opened it gently, as to not wake the inhabitants of the castle. I entered the room quietly and what I found astounded me.

There was an enormous black cat sleeping in a luxurious velvet chair at the foot of a grand bed, while the walls were adorned with plaster masks, each of them displaying a different mood or emotion. I was curious and decided to explore further, and I eventually found an altar with strange symbols and offerings.

As I was taking in the nuances of the altar, a bat slowly flew by me. It was then I realised that I was in the presence of a male vampire. I turned around and watched as he introduced himself. His name was Vincent and he proceeded to welcome me as if I was an old friend. I could feel the magic in the air and it cast a spell over me.

"Why don't you join me and my family for dinner," he said. I followed him and two other vampires into a secret dining room. There I tasted the most exotic food I had ever experienced. The conversation was light and we discussed politics, gossip, and other various topics. I felt as though I truly belonged, as if I could never find satisfaction anywhere else.

After dinner, Vincent asked me to stay, offering me refuge from the outside world. The temptation was strong, so I said yes and I'm still here. After all, everyone needs a place to escape from time to time. And I have found refuge in this dark, old castle.
