I had just finished counting up my money from the night's raid on the mall when I heard a strange noise coming from a corner of the store. It sounded like slithering but I couldn't figure out what it was. Curiosity got the best of me so I cautiously stepped closer and peeked around the corner. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I saw the giant cobra slithering along the floor. Of course I would be the one to encounter such an outlandish creature.
My first thought was "How do I get out of this alive?" I then stepped around the corner, my heart pounding in my chest. I mustered up all of the confidence I had and stated in a firm voice, "What are you doing here?" To my surprise, the cobra replied, "I'm here to invite you to a party of sorts. It's going to be epic" I was skeptical at first, but this cobra had a certain charm and I was intrigued.
I quickly realized that the cobra was referring to a gathering of vampires, as it went on to explain that all of the creatures of the night would be there, and that there would be music, dancing and laughter. I was strangely excited by the prospect of finally meeting others like me and seeing how they lived.
The cobra then conjured up a carriage made of gold and pulled by two black stallions. I stepped in and it flew off into the night sky, taking me to the grandest of vampire parties I had ever seen. From giant talking spiders, to dragons, to creatures I had never even heard of before, the night was surreal and magical. We ate exotic food, danced to strange music, and talked until the sun came up.
This was my first of many adventures as a vampire and I was enjoying the journey. From that night forward, I always welcomed the strange and unexpected. After all, you never know who or what you'll be running into.
