Vampirix diary Mary Read

I had just returned from a night of what I like to call “business” - that is, walking into wealthy homes unseen and networking with people, forming relationships that would benefit me financially. It had been a fruitful (and stress-free!) night - the smell of alarm and confusion emanating from the kitchens and living rooms of the various houses still hung in my nose like the musty aroma of a forgotten library.

Smiling with satisfaction, I turned my attention to the events of the next evening: a girl’s night out with some of my closest friends.

We decided to meet at the local vampire bar, which was decorated in garish red and black velvet curtains and filled with the distinctive smell of blood, incense, and vampire musk. The proprietor, a bat-like creature known as “Leche” served us a variety of exotic concoctions, such as herbal teas, syrupy coffees, and cocktails made with vampire extracts.

As the night proceeded, I observed my friends, noticing a common bond between us: a connection forged from many centuries of stress-eating and the need to remain hidden in our mortal forms. We shared tales from the days of old and plans for the future, particularly those involving adventures to distant lands and cultures.

My mind was still in a pleasant fog when I left the bar, with the gentle sound of laughter and conversation echoing in my ears. As I walked the mist-shrouded streets, my thoughts shifted to an upcoming trip during which I will be able to experience many exotic delicacies, shop to my heart’s content, and of course, draw new experiences from which to feed myself of energy.

All in all it was the perfect way to spend the evening, and I’ll be sure to repeat it as often as I can.
