Today was an interesting day. I woke early, grabbed a cracker, and watched the fog roll through the hills. I could see it in the distance, the cars on the winding mountain roads.
I took a few moments to ponder the day's possibilities and then I got to work. After brushing my fangs and adjusting my cape, I checked my files. Last night's report on vampire-related stress had yielded some interesting results, and I was eager to formulate conclusions.
After finalizing my notes, I set off on a hike. The sun danced between the trees and the birds sang a sweet song. I stopped along the way to admire a small sculpture that I found tucked into the forest. No one knew I existed and I had no real cause to make a mark, but I was drawn to it nonetheless.
When I returned, I decided to indulge in a bit of astronomy. Transylvania is known for its night skies, and I didn't hesitate to take advantage of the view. Fiddling with my telescope, I followed a distant plane as it took off and disappeared into the stars.
Before the night was over, I gathered for dinner with a few of my scientist friends. We spent the night arguing about politics, computers, and cats. And then just before we retired to our respective houses, we squared off in a game of trivia. I can't say I won, but I certainly had my moments.
As I walk back home now, I can't help but feel satisfied. Whether its discovering the source of vampire related stress or simply engaging in a game of amateur astronomy, today has been a worthwhile day indeed. In my heart I know now, tomorrow will likely bring something new, and I can't help but smile.
