Today was a typical day in rural Transylvania, nothing much ever happened here so it was a surprise when my neighbor approached me this morning. With an excited look on his face, he said he had an urgent job for me - I was to accompany him on an expedition to the castle ruins. Of course, he wasn't offering payment, so I sought to take advantage of the situation. Donning a cape and my new sunglasses (that's right folks, vampires can accessorize!), I decided to use my powers of persuasion to convince the neighbor to let me have all the stress I wanted from the castle. He reluctantly agreed and before I knew it, we were off and away.
As we arrived at the castle, my heart skipped a beat. It was like nothing I had ever seen before - it was so strange and mysterious. I was almost in awe when my eyes drifted to the castle's cedar tree. The branches of the cedar were twisted and tangled like a giant vulture's nest. The sight sparked a great curiosity in me, so I scrambled up to get a closer look.
When I reached the top of the tree, I was dumbstruck! To my surprise and horror, I saw all the bats hibernating in the branches! As I realized that, I immediately noticed the air filled with a sweet scent. My heart quickened as I realized it was my favorite type of energy - stress!
Rejuvenated by this knowledge, I began to gobble down as much of this stress as I could. I felt my heart swell as I absorbed its energy and was energized with an otherworldly strength. I was grateful for my find and quickly tucked my new secret away in the back of my mind. As I climbed back down the tree, my neighbor and I began to debate about the scientific reasoning for such stress-induced activity. We discussed for hours under the giant cedar tree and concluded that there must surely be some kind of "energy exchange".
I thanked my neighbor for tackling this secrets-filled mission with me and declared to him that science is broader than we can understand. As I fly away into the peaceful night-sky, I clung to my newfound knowledge. As I flew over the Bat Castle, I thought of the infinite possibilities that the future held and how I would love to use the vampire power of stress in achieving my dream of reaching Mars!
