I woke up in the forest early today feeling very strange. I had a strange urge to fly, but why? Was it something I ate? I decided to explore further into the forest a bit and then I saw it. A giant, iron machine sat amongst the trees like a giant bird poised for flight. It could only have been one of my scientist friends, tinkering away in some secret lab. What had they been up to this time?
I cautiously stepped inside the lab to take a look. Everywhere I looked, I saw beakers, microscopes and other scientific equipment, machines humming and whirring, and diagrams and charts detailing the inner workings of what could only be a giant flying machine. This must have been one of those trips to Mars my scientist friends had been talking about.
I had to see what it was all about, so I hopped in the chair and settled in for a ride. Everything came to life with a sudden jolt, and before I knew it, I was soaring through the clouds at great speed. I was in awe of the craft and how quickly we were getting to Mars, and I laughed with delight as the scenery changed before my eyes.
Then, suddenly, I knew exactly why I had been feeling so strange earlier. I was a vampire! I had been absorbing the stress of the people around me and converting it into energy. I knew now why I had the urge to fly and why I was so exhausted last night.
I was enjoying the ride, but I soon noticed a problem. A giant green blob was approaching us from the sky. It was a demon, no doubt. I pulled out my sleeping bag from my travel bag and tightly tied it around the demon, in hopes that it would take the hint and stay away.
My plan worked! The demon disappeared and my journey to Mars continued. I made it safely to the Red planet and explored a bit before I decided to head back home.
As I returned to Transylvania, I couldn't help but think back to the flight. It was an exciting adventure that I'll never forget. I can already imagine all the puns I'll make while telling everyone the story—no doubt they'll be rolling in the aisles in no time.
Until then, I still have some scientist friends to visit, caves to investigate, and rocks to play. After all, that's what being a vampire is all about.
