I woke up early this morning in my coffin in a rocky cave with a snort and a start. I had a dream about going to Mars, and I couldn't help but be a little jealous of all the astronauts who get to take on a such a daring and exciting quest and explore the universe. I was determined to get out and make the day a successful one. I jumped out of my cozy casket and licked my fangs while stretching, my morning ritual.
I had an interesting day planned. However, as I stepped out into the open I could feel the morning chill running through my veins, which meant only one thing: stress! I couldn't resist the slight feeling of dread this brought but I kept a positive outlook. I needed to get moving or else I'd be too late.
I started by heading to one of my favorite spots in the hills, a place I like to go for a quiet morning snack—a group of bats that hung out in a nearby cave. I prefer this to finding unsuspecting humans who may not appreciate my presence.
After my snack, I traveled to the city for some shopping. I've noticed that art supplies and materials for creating sculpture have become increasingly expensive as of late. I'm ashamed to say I have been too busy with other matters to keep up with my craft. While shopping, I ran into a few familiar faces who were working in the local marketplace. We exchanged pleasantries and I left the store with a few items to add to my collection.
On my way to my next destination I heard some music coming from a nearby alley. I dove down the narrow passage and found a few teenagers playing rock music on their guitars and some synthesizers. I absolutely love the sound of rock music so I stayed for a few minutes to enjoy the atmosphere.
When the kids had moved on I continued on my path. I finally arrived at my intended destination: a local scientist's laboratory. I love visiting my friends in the lab to see their experiments and enquire about their progress. I also love to hear their theories and suggestions.
Today my friend had this really cool project going where he was using a new type of molecule to lighten the stress levels of a certain species of vampire. He asked me to take part in the experiment and I couldn't help but be intrigued by the idea. I agreed and soon enough I had my stress levels reduced!
The day came to a close and I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment. It had been a successful day and I'd accomplished a lot. I think this tasting of freedom once in a while really help me appreciate the knowledge and friendships I have made here in Transylvania. It's time to return back to my castle to get some rest. Mootzulea
A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
