Vampirix diary Mary Read

Today was a busy day for me as usual -- but with an exciting twist! I had an invitation from a remote laboratory to examine some new species of plant. Of course, I had to try to sneak in some time for some of my hobbies.

So as usual I started off the day by working on my sculpture of a moonlight-patrolled Gothic castle. It's already been two days now! I can't wait to see the final product. After that I packed up some sandwiches and set out towards the hills of Transylvania with my cat and my computer.

I always get intrigued by the ancient architecture along the way and cant help but fly around the buildings to get a better understanding of the brickwork. This time I flew around for so long I almost got hit by an airplane! Luckily I managed to dodge it in time, however I did scare the pilot and he radioed in to make a complaint about flying vampires. Not a very good way to start off the day eh?

Anyway, I eventually did make it to the remote laboratory and once I found my designated work area, I started straight away on the project. I was surprised to find out that it involved analyzing a new species of plant I had never heard of before. Unfortunately, while I was examining it, the professor had to leave abruptly due to a plumbing emergency, leaving me all alone in the lab.

So there I was, stuck in the lab with no one to talk to, no rock music to listen to, and nothing to do but experiment. I started to get pretty stressed, until I noticed that the stress had a delightful taste to it! That's when I realized, I could just eat the stress away! I indulged myself with a mini feast and as soon as I started feeling better, I noticed that the plant I was studying had suddenly sprouted petals and looked like a flower!

I guess it was meant to be some sort of experiment in chemistry. I guess the professor wasn't too thrilled with the outcome though, because the moment he returned, he shrieked and ran away again. Eventually, he returned with a few of his scientist friends and they all congratulated me for such an amazing discovery!

I guess that's why I love science so much - it can lead to the craziest discoveries! I ended the day with a good laugh, some new friends, and a better understanding of plants.
