Vampirix diary Mary Read

31 Aug 2023

Dear Diary,

Today was an eventful day, for a little vampirix from the hills of Transylvania. To start off, my day began with a little bit of star-gazing, as I watched my beloved night sky, drank in the stars and sighed in delight. But then, after far too short a time, the sun started to rise, I had to go inside.

But luck was with me this morning, as I was woke up by none other than my dear friend the Professor, a mad scientist who tries to find ways to get me to Mars (he has yet to succeed….). After some hearty banter between us, we set off on a journey to his laboratory, where he had an invention he wanted to show me.

We arrived to his lab and I quickly approximated we were grossly outnumbered. Not by humans or fellow scientists, but by cats, mewing and purring and greeting me. It seemed that the Professor had been experimenting with cloning technology, and so far had quite the success rate with cats.

I could not help but think that if he would put these skills to use and replicate my favorite rock bands, that would make for an entertaining afternoon! Alas, the Professor said no, for he has higher aspirations, which put a damper on my ambitions of becoming a cat-rockstar.

On his lab table, I found a small device, filled with mechanical gears, circuits and such. The Professor proceeded to explain how it works: a combination of chemistry and electricity, all meant to identify when someone is carrying too much stress. By scanning certain areas of the user's body, the machine can detect how tense the person is, and then release stress-relieving vibrations.

I was especially impressed by this invention and see it as a potential lifesaver should my cousins, the vampire cousins of Dracula come looking for me!

That evening, after a delicious dinner I cooked out of leftover experiments, I decided to take a break before going to bed. I chose to settle down with my pun book and have a bit of enjoyment. My favorite pun, I’ll share with you now:

“Why don't vampires go to parties? Because they have no body to go with”

As you can see Dear Diary, my day went in an interesting direction, filled with cats, inventions, and puns! All in all, this vampirix from the hills of Transylvania is living a life full of adventure.

Till next time,

Mootzulea
