Life as a small vampire has its ups and downs, literally. Just today, I pranked the townsfolk because the sun was too high in the sky. Hopping-floating from one rooftop to another as if I were an utter acrobat, I was determined to avoid its glaring light. I nearly failed when I misjudged its proximity, and stumbled down the building's edge, wincing as my feet touched the heated surface.
The townsfolk on the street paid no attention—they were far too engrossed in their squabbling about the upcoming elections. However, I had a plan. With a chuckle and a wink, I zoomed down to their level, grabbed a few of their conversations in my hands, and flew back up. Once high enough, I released the words, and watched as they swirled and fluttered up, forming a peculiar conversation that would haunt them for years.
The townsfolk were appalled, yet enthralled. I continued my journey of pranking people, skipping and jumping from one roof to another and having a blast. As I watched the sun slowly sink lower in the sky, I stopped for a break.
Soon, my nighttime regiment began. I flew from one star to another, head bobbing along with the beat of my favourite rock tunes, those rock gods freeing my soul in the skies. I soared through the darkness, dipping and weaving around buildings and trees, until I reached the outskirts of the haunted forest.
Here, I tried my hand at chemistry with some bubbling potions I'd brought from home. I'd spent days toiling over how to make them just right and drinking a few to soothe myself after a day of freeing townsfolk from boredom.
Finished with my experiments, I took off once again to the skies. Dancing through the air with the cool night wind, I was reminded of my dream to travel to outer space. Would the stars be just as excited to meet my eccentric vampire self?
A few hours later, I made my way back home with the hard-earned knowledge of the stars — with a refreshed spirit, ready to face a new day of pranking and experimenting. But I wasn't alone. My faithful cat, usually found meowing from rooftop to rooftop, was there in an instant, ready to join me in my next adventure.
