Today was as unpredictable as ever. I was awoken from my slumbering in the comfort of the trees by a soft but persistent buzz. It was like the sound of a science experiment gone wrong. I was fully awoken to the realization that my friend and fellow vampire, Vladech, had created some kind of a 'frighteningly responsible' flying machine. I flew up in the air to check it out, while he followed me with his newly invented pulse-motored remote control. Of course I was curious and strangely excited to see what he had constructed.
"Welcome to the new flying machine, my friend!" Vladech said, smiling.
When I got a closer look, I noticed it was made of a bloody combination of twigs, mortar, paper, and bones. It had several wings spread across like a bat and some kind of propeller in the rear.
"It's energy efficient and could be used to fly to the moon and beyond," he went on to say, as I gawked at it.
"Nice one!" I said.
We decided to try it out. With Vladech as the pilot and me as the engineer, we strapped ourselves in and prepared for takeoff. The flight was extremely stable and we were able to ascend to heights I had never seen before! It was like a dream, only it was real. At one point, Vladech decided to take a dive and I almost freaked out, but I kept my composure and watched as we skirted the edges of the clouds. We flew for so long and so high that I almost forgot about our mission.
Despite all the risks and dangers, it was a beautiful and romantic flight — the sort of experience I'd recommend to anyone. After some time, we finally decided to land. But of course, our plans were changed when a bolt of lightning struck the meadow we were supposed to land on.
Lucky for us, Vladech was prepared. He had installed a miniature parachute on the underside of the prototype – just in case. We managed to make a safe descent, but it was certainly adventurous. After all that excitement, Vladech and I decided to head back home to rest.
That night, I was relaxed and full of confidence. That was the night I realized I had what it takes to become the world's first vampiriX astronaut. Who knows, I may even take courage and fly to the moon one day. In the spirit of science, I opened up my lab and started toying with some ideas. It was a great day.
