It's a Wednesday night. I've just finished with my latest mound of work and I'm ready to relax. I settle into my throne with a cup of coffee and a smile. As I gaze out the window I sigh contentedly: vampires' lives are never dull.
Tonight I'm attending the Transylvania Stress Symphony (it's a thing, I swear). It's a weekly gathering of vampires and humans alike, each bringing their own stresses and worries to the table for musical coping relief. But of course, for me, it's more of a stress buffet than anything else!
I ascend the grand stairwell to the main jazz hall and immediately I'm taken in by the thumping bass and sweet melody. The fresh scent of roses fills the air, coming from the flower-filled vases surrounding the central stage. Dancers and various musicians encircle the space, with a whole pack of vampires, including me, in the center.
We pass out stress-reducing elixirs, which is handy (for those of us who don't much care for the taste of stress). But it's all in good fun, and I've never seen so many vampires so relaxed! It's really quite something to witness a collective sigh of relief after a hard day.
I join in too, singing and laughing along to the beat, hopping around, and busting out a few moves. It's liberating to not just be a blood-suckin' monster of the night, but of a creative kind. It reminds me of why I chose this life in the first place.
Proclaiming it a good night, I bid goodbye to my vampire buddies and head back into the night. I'm looking forward to another Transylvania Stress Symphony next week. I just need to remember to bring extra stress for everyone this time.
As I fade back into the hills of Transylvania, I can't help but think of all the wild and wonderful things I'm lucky enough to experience as a vampire. But one thing's certain: I can't wait to get to Mars someday.

Mootzulea
A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
