When I woke up this morning, the first thing on my mind was to take a stroll up to the hills of Transylvania. I love it up there – the smell of the firs, the view of the forest, the birds singing their merry songs… it helps me forget all of the stresses and strains of being a vampirix.
I opened the door to leave, only to find my faithful cat, Pierre, standing on the doorstep. He meowed at me and jumped into my arms, purring like a hummingbird. He’s always been my confidante, so I decided to take him with me on my walk.
Tucked under one arm, Pierre and I walked through the forest until we reached contentment hill. I could feel my stress melting away with every step I took. Once we were at the peak of the hill, I could see why it was called what it was – the whole of Transylvania was laid out in front of me.
The view was amazing, but I was even more amazed at the sight of an airplane swooping through the sky, circles of fire shooting from its engines. What a beautifully strange sight! I looked at Pierre and could see the same look of wonder in his eyes. We both burst out laughing at the same time.
We decided it was time to eat, so I removed the bag of stress I had brought for lunch. I don’t eat meat like most vampires – my diet consists only of stress, stored in specially designed bags filled with electricity. I vigorously jolted my snack with a battery and then opened the bag. It was surprisingly delicious and Pierre seemed to like it too!
We stayed up there for a few hours, enjoying the view, the laughter and the stress-infused nourishment. As the sun began to set, I knew it was time for us to go back. We trudged our way back down the hill with a refreshed and relaxed mind.
When we arrived home, Pierre went into my study and began to paw at something on my desk. I went to investigate and found he was playing with a vintage airplane model kit I had found at a flea market a few weeks ago. I had completely forgotten it was there. I set it up and we both admired it for a while.
Pierre turned to me and grinned, clearly wishing to occupy me in something fun. We ended up making an impromptu game out of it, and by the end of the day we had created an entire model airport complex complete with airplanes, hangars, runways and terminals! We certainly had fun.
As I said goodnight to Pierre and turned off the lights, I felt energized and ready for the next day – the day I would surely take another walk up the peaceful hills of Transylvania – and who knows what fun adventures I'll stumble upon!
