Today felt like a long day. As if I was running through the motions of the day, but never really present in the moment.
Today started out at the mall. I enjoy a good shopping sesh every once in a while and there was a sale so why not take advantage? After finding a few pieces that I would add to my wardrobe, I made my way to the food court to grab a bite.
But the food court was a bit too chaotic for my taste. Too much stimulus, too many eyes and the questions they would bring to me. I quickly left the mall, deciding to pick up a smoothie to go and enjoy on life’s balcony.
Afterwards, I decided to fly to my old castle for a breather. The wind felt so calming as I could look out over my kingdom and the stars twinkled almost in respect. I spent a couple of hours in peace, before I flew back home.
Elated with the end of the day, I walked home, drawing sceneries to bring home for the friends I would gather with later tonight. Upon arriving home, I found that my cat had caught another bird, so I spent some time leading the bird back to safety and admire the felines enjoying the spoils of their hunt.
Feeling satiated by the days events, I lazily made my way to the kitchen to throw together some exotic food. Afterwards, I showered and focused my friends to join me in celebrating the nights festivities.
Tonight I decided to raffle off gifts, I don’t know why, it just felt right. Everyone was pleasantly surprised, especially when I revealed that the biggest package was filled with a trip to an exotic country that would leave tomorrow morning. Oh the surprise, right before their eyes.
I haven’t had this much fun in a while.
But, as the night ends I couldn’t help but gracefully glide back home from the party and curl up with my cat and enjoy the solace of being in my own presence, away from the world.
It is these moments when I know I can always count on me and myself alone.
