Today has been an exceptionally strange one. It all started when I woke up early in the morning. I had this odd intuition that something unusual was about to happen, so I got up and stepped out of my window into the night. No one seemed to be out, just me, the streetlights and the stars. I spread my wings and took off, flying away from the city and towards the dark horizon.
The air felt nice and cool around me and the night sky seemed nearly infinite, stretching outward in every direction. I flew for what felt like an eternity, and eventually I noticed a small figure walking on the ground below me.
As I got closer I noticed it was a tiny old man wearing an incredible cape that sparkled in the moonlight like a thousand stars. He stopped and looked up at me, pointing the tips of his fingers towards my direction. I couldn't help but smile, for I knew that it was in fact an invitation for me to follow him.
We kept walking and soon we reached a large ancient structure. It appeared to be some sort of castle or palace, and I could almost feel the mysterious energy emitting from its walls. We stepped inside, and the old man showed me around.
The palace was filled with many strange things. There were numerous books and artifacts that I had never seen before, a strange altar with symbols that I couldn't read, and a few odd-looking armors. Eventually, I noticed an old painting on the wall that showed a woman with wings very similar to mine. The old man said her name was Mary Read, and that she was a legendary pirate.
The old man gave me a curious buddha-like necklace and said that I was destined to wear it. I thanked him, but I still had the strange feeling that the evening was far from being over. I then thanked him one last time and flew away back home.
And so here I am now, with the same cryptic feeling I had since the morning. I still don't know what the evening actually meant, but I'm positively sure that it will make sense in time.
