I feel like something from a distant past living in the present. Today was full of dreams of knights and dragons, and I suddenly woke up in my room, feeling invigorated, ready for the day.
My eyes widened when I noticed the darkness outside my window. It was pitch ? dark, except for some flickers of light far in the horizon. The night had come and I was eager to take to the sky.
I bolted to the closet and pulled out my favourite black cloak and scarf. I grabbed my fangs and hurriedly put them in place. Before long I was ready, ready to rise up above the world and take my reign over the night.
I flew for hours, passing above dark forests and reflecting lakes. I enjoyed the freedom of gliding through the air and felt strong and liberated. Nothing can stop me. I am Mary Read, princess of the dark and ruler of the night.
Eventually I descended back to the ground, where I spotted a group of people gathered in a local tavern. I could feel their energy from afar, and it was what I needed.
Without hesitation I made my way to the centre of the crowd. I could feel the fear and anxiety emanating from them, and they were in awe of my mysterious presence. I opened my mouth and sensually uttered some enchanting words, leaving them mesmerized and scared. I had taken what I needed, their stress and fear, and their minds were now my captives.
It's so peaceful here in the darkness, yet so powerful. I can feel my strength grow with every innocent heart I touch. Sometimes I wonder why I cannot be like the others and bask in the sun, but I know my place is here in the shadows. I do not regret my transformation, for it brings me so much joy, and I am thankful for the gift I was given of being able to enjoy the beauty of the night.
