Life is funny sometimes. Today my girlfriends and I decided to go out and have a little shopping spree. We laughed and joked around, almost as if we were in some kind of competition to see who would come out with the most interesting items. Eventually, we ended up at our usual spot – the mall – and boy, did we have a good time!
We started off with all the usual suspects: the toy store, the shoe store, the clothing stores, but in addition to all of this, I was suddenly overcome with a strange sense of curiosity. I wanted to explore the more mysterious parts of the mall, diving deeper and deeper, leaving my friends behind in the more commercial establishments.
Eventually, I found something that immediately peaked my interest – an old gothic-looking store in the back with a giant dragon logo on the door. I had never seen anything like it! It was so out of place in a mall that it stuck out almost in the same way that I do. Nevertheless, I was too curious to back down, so I opened the door and stepped inside.
The dragon was a dummy that graced the top of the store, signalling the type of items within. It was incredible. Inside, I found everything a vampire or 'vampirix' might need: blood-red lipstick, vampire-inspired clothing in dark fabrics, and to my surprise, a selection of Pina Colada-flavored drinks. I was completely entranced!
As I continued to look around, I spotted a pair of fangs I had to have. It was the perfect accessory to differentiate myself from the 'normal' mall-goers that surrounded us, though I could never quite explian why I wanted them so badly. And of course I had to buy a bottle of the Pina Colada mixture in case I was to encounter Dracula again.
It was a wonderful adventure, though when it was time to go, I was met with more questions than answers. What had drawn me to the store in the first place? I was sure it was something more than my curiosity.
Later that day, I contemplated my experience as I boarded my broomstick and set off for a night of flying and adventure over an unfamiliar cityscape. Despite everything that had happened that day, I felt an unmistakable sense of belonging. I was right where I was meant to be: a vampire warrior princess, here to explore new places and test my limits.
Life as Mary Read is full of surprises, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

She likes Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain, but leads very serious battles. She has a knack for making money, therefore, your production of money will be increased. Her inspiration, Mary Read, was an English pirate during the Golden Age of Piracy.
