It has been a stressful couple of days. It all started when I decided to go shopping for a new outfit. I was looking for something that would stand out and make a statement. The mall was packed with tourist and locals alike, all trying to get the best value for their currency.
I ended up finding this cute little black dress that had a bit of an offbeat edge to it. It was just eccentric enough that I knew it was the one. But no shopping day would be complete without at least a few rounds ofwindow shopping, so I decided to take a spin around the mall before heading to theregister.
Little did I know, my little spin around the mall was about to take an unexpected turn. As I was browsing the fashion-wear section, I suddenly felt like was being watched. I stopped in my tracks and whirpooled around, but there was no one there. I must have imagined it.
I paused for a minute and all of a sudden, I heard a high pitched voice calling for me from somewhere in the corner of the store. "Mary, what are you doing here?"
The voice belonged to a small creature that looked like a cross between a bat and a fairy. She was wearing a dark cloak and had a pair of tiny fangs protruding from her mouth. I had never seen anything like it before.
It took me a few moments to realize what was happening. The creature was a vampirex, and she was speaking to me in a language I could not understand. I stuttered a quick response in English, and she smiled, revealing a set of sharp teeth.
"So you can understand me after all," she said. She then proceeded to tell me about her life as a vampirex, and how she had been observing me in the mall. I was fascinated by her story and eagerly listened to every word she said. I asked her about her name, and she introduced herself as Mary Read.
That explained the odd choice in my outfit. I had never heard of a Mary Read before, but she said she had found her name while reading about a famous pirate. I thanked her for the advice and the education, and she smiled and disappeared into the night.
My shopping spree was coming to a close, and I took my outfit and went home, full of stories and inspiration. I couldn't wait to show my friends the new outfit! I just had to hope that they wouldn't ask too many questions about how I got it.
