I woke up this morning with a jolt, and my heart was pounding like a drum. To my surprise, I found myself lying in a pool of purple goo. I groaned and realized it was grape jelly from the late night snack I had taken when I was feeling famished around 3 a.m. Taking a deep breath, I tried to shake off the exhaustion from my sleep and drag myself out of bed. I surveyed my room with a smile, appreciating the vibrant art that decorated my walls and the comfort I find in my surroundings.
Heading to the bathroom, I noticed the balloons queued up at the door. I let out a yelp of joy when I saw that my friends had planned a surprise birthday party for me! I hadn't realized it was my birthday today! I quickly rushed to the window and looked outside. Sure enough, there were hordes of people in spooky costumes and cackling away. My friends had meant it when they said that there would be a wild night of candy, music, and drink.
Grabbing my trusty wooden stake, I flew outside into the night, feeling more alive than ever. There was so much to do! I made a bee-line for the DJ and gave the crowd some of the classical Dracula tunes I had collected over the years and set the dance floor alight. Promptly after, I invited folk into my gothic horror den to tell them tales of vampires and ghosts and other wonders I had encountered in my travels.
Sauntering across the floor, I made my way to the bar. I ordered a pina colada and was relieved to find that the bartender had actually remembered to add the umbrellas this time. I was about to take a sip, when I heard a loud splash behind me. Sure enough, a few mischievous ghosts were having a water fight in the garden. I had to chuckle at their antics and thanked my lucky stars for having such delightful company.
Midnight approached and I was so shaken up by the wild events of the night I had almost forgotten that birthday presents were going to be exchanged. I watched in awe as my friends presented me with beautiful gift boxes filled with goodies. Not to be outdone, I shared the gold coins I had accumulated from my travels, hoping that these could linked enough luck to everyone present.
The night finally came to a close, and I felt a sense of contentment that only a vampire like myself could comprehend. I hugged the day goodbye for now, knowing that a new adventure awaits me tomorrow.
