I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling ravenous. Even though I knew I'd only fed yesterday, for a moment I considered hunting. But no, it was too early yet.

I put on my favorite outfit - the red velvet dress that reminded me of my namesake - and descended into the night.

The streets were quiet, and only the occasional cross winds made a sound as I soared above the city. I miss my travels, going to the exotic places that make up my past experiences. I had collected many stories over the years, but here I was, content with my familiar night-time wanderings.

I decided to go shopping - there's something almost hypnotic about walking among the arcades so late at night. Everywhere I get strange looks, but no one dares to come near me. Still, I know they're thinking about it - and that's why I'm here.

I found the exact kind of dress I'd been looking for, and as soon as I set my eyes on it, I knew nothing else would do. I grabbed it, pleased with my good luck, and hurried to the exit to pay for it.

But just as I was about to take off, an insanely loud scream made me jump. I heard two young people talking about some kind of vampirix they'd seen near their college. Feeling a bit embarrassed, I flew away as quickly as I could.

As I felt the night air brush against my face, I wondered if I was ever really just another person - or am I a creature of the night?

My night isn't really done yet, I still have some darkness to explore. Maybe I'll head to that old cemetery and check if Dracula is still there. Or I could find some cats to say hi to, or raid some of my secret spots in my favorite malls. But for now, it's time to go back home and rest. I already feel the stress starting to burn within me, and I'm ready for a drink - of Pina Colada, of course.
