I woke up the same as I do every day. I felt a little different though, like something was buzzing at the back of my mind. I decided to take a stroll around town to clear my head.
The air was heavy with a thick moisture, yet strangely refreshing after the long day in bed yesterday. I flitted through the city's cobbled streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the hustle and bustle of the day.
I paused at a cafe and picked up a cupcake, breathing in the sweet smell of icing before taking a bite. As the sugary goodness melted on my tongue, I felt a strange feeling of joy run through my veins.
Continuing down the street, I noticed a group of teenage girls standing in a circle around a mosaic of vivid colours on the pavement. I watched as they jumped in place, smeared their faces with coloured dust, and laughed uncontrollably. The sight of so much joy and freedom was beautiful.
The city seemed to be a never-ending dream of colour and energy. Everywhere I looked there was something new to behold. The city was a living and breathing thing, an organism full of secrets and stories.
At night, I changed my usual clothes for something a bit more wild. Winged boots, a black leather vest, and a hooded cape. I was ready to take to the night sky. Alone in the air, I felt powerful and free. I flew through the city, seeing the day's events from a different angle. I could see the glittering lights around the cityscape, while the stars shone in the sky like diamonds.
Tomorrow, I'll explore the city from a different angle-perhaps I'll even visit a new place I've never been before! I find something new and exciting about the city everyday. And that's why I'm always planning my next adventure.
