As I’m sitting here at my balcony I started to reflect on my life. More than three centuries have passed since I took the form of a VG (vampirix) and yet I still feel like I’m just a teenager lost in the woods.
Everyday is a blur of different emotions, thoughts and random moments. I’m a master of multitasking but sometimes I still feel like my life is a gamut of insanity.
It was raining all day. That’s why I decided to stay at home playing some video games. I was killing those hideous vampires as usual in a reflexive ecstasy when suddenly the doorbell rang. It was my girlfriend inviting me to go out! I shrugged and decided to accept the invitation.
I arrived to the club late, just in time to embrace my girlfriend, who was looking beautiful – I think it was that little black dress that she was wearing. The place was crowded with people, so I moved to the back, into the mountain of plush pillows that the club had and began to observe the scene from a distance. Next to me was a group of girls chatting and next to them a small pool filled with little fish that were swimming at an unknown rhythm.
After a while, one of the girls decided to start a conversation and told me that I was too cute to be a vampire. I smiled with a sly expression and told her that I wasn’t a vampire but a VG. Nonetheless, I am surrounded by fascinating creatures. She asked what is a VG. So, I took a deep breath and started to explain that I feed on stress, not blood. She seemed fascinated and accepted the explanation without much further questions.
Later that night, I flew away from the club and found myself irresistibly attracted to the setting rain. I'm not sure why, but I felt like an ancient princess warrior with the power of controlling the weather. I flew around trying to embrace the feeling while at the same time I contorted my face to become a vampire. Unfortunately, the look of a vampire made me fly faster and faster and I eventually flew away from the city.
The morning always finds me in some random woods, with my dress torn and my fingers covered with mud, telling stories to the night creatures around me. Today, I'm here again after a remarkable night of curious adventure. I feel a new kind of power within me, my body tingles with energy. Financial success is in my veins, wrapped in the form of a vampire. I'm Mary Read!
