I awoke in a flurry this morning, ready to take on the day ahead of me. The sun was just beginning to peek through my curtains, but the energy in my belly was so strong that I felt like I could conquer the world. I felt energized and powerful as I leapt out of bed and readied for the day ahead – it was a totally different energy from the night before, when I had been out hunting.
The night had been magical, as usual. Flying high up above the city, with the wind in my hair. My kind can sense the stress of humans below us, and I can slurp it up like a macaroon. That’s how I survive. On stress.
I got ready quickly and grabbed my purse – I was headed to the mall. It’s always so fun to go shopping, with the possibility of new clothes and gadgets around every corner. Plus, I always make a point of talking to strangers and introducing myself – you never know who you'll meet at the mall.
I hopped on the bus and excitedly started planning my purchases. I’d been thinking of getting some new jewelry and maybe some books that I could read while out in the sun. I like to read outside, protected by a large umbrella, surrounded by my cat army. I love cats, they follow me on all my adventures.
Once I was done at the mall, I stopped by a cafe with some friends to have a pina colada and catch up on the gossip. I love gossiping – it’s so fun to hear about other people’s problems and be able to give them advice. It kind of helps me live my life vicariously through other people.
Then it was off to the club for some more stress-eating. I love clubbing – it’s the perfect place to get my fill of stress. I can get really close to people and sense their worries and troubles, and that’s what I’m after.
And, before I knew it, the night ended. I felt satiated and full of energy, so I grabbed a few friends and went to the roof of the tallest building for some night flying. It’s so liberating to fly, high up above the world, free from all the stresses down below.
But now, here I am, back in my bed, ready to start a new day. Life is strange, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
