Today has been a strange one. It started off weirdly enough, with a couple of my friends streaming a live performance of an opera about a vampire who feeds on despair instead of blood. I couldn't believe it. I mean, I'm a vampire, but not one of the "bad" ones. I feed off of stress, and bring calm moments to others in exchange.
They invited me to watch with them, and I was amazed at the power of the story to draw me in. I was so captivated, I even forgot to eat.
When the opera was over, I had an urge to go out for a walk, so that's what I did. The night air felt so good against my skin, and I loved the way it smelled and tasted, just like a glass of Pina Colada - but without the rum!
I wandered around for a while, and eventually found myself in a shopping mall. It felt strange to be here, like I didn't belong. I couldn't help but try on some clothes anyway. I always feel like the most ancient of princess warriors when I'm wearing something new.
My next stop was a bookstore, where I picked up some books about politics and world history. Then I headed home, planning to spend the night doing some night flying. But when I returned home, I found that my cat had somehow clawed its way into my room and was sleeping on my laptop!
I laughed and scooped him up into my arms and he purred contentedly at the feeling of being safe and loved. That's when I knew that I was home.
Today has been a weird one for sure, but then again, what isn't odd when you're a vampire?
