I look down over St. However's Square from my bedroom window as the night comes in and the lights of the city come alive. I can't help but feel like a mysterious princess warrior, surveying the kingdom of my choosing. Tonight I think I'll go out for a night fly with my vampire friends.
We meet up at the steps of the old cathedral, our cloaks draped around our silent forms. Already there is a growing babble of excitement as we sense that something special is afoot this evening. The full moon opens up the night sky, its yellow glow giving us strength. We can feel the energy of the night pulsing through us, awakening our senses.
We spread our wings and soar into the night. Higher…higher…we leave the city far behind us and travel to the darkness, our home. We can feel the hum of the energy coursing through us as we fly, feeling every movement, every shift of air.
We touch down in the forest, the power of the night still strong. Someone has set up a bonfire, and vampires of all kinds have gathered around it. Drinks are poured and stories are shared, of travels to exotic lands and battles against supernatural foes.
We dance around the fire, playing music and laughing with joy. I can feel my stress melting away as the energy of the night takes over. Later, someone puts on a Dracula movie and everyone cheers.
Finally, we take our leave, arms around each other's shoulders. We part with promises to meet again, and fly off into the night, as the fireworks begin to light up the sky.
As I get back to my window, I look down at the city and smile. Tonight was perfect, and I know that with a little bit of luck and a lot of magic, tomorrow could bring just as much adventure.
