It was the kind of day when you just want to sink back into the shadows and watch the world pass you by. I, Mootzulea, had been doing my normal duties - sweeping the castle grounds, pranking unsuspecting travelers, and generally just being my mischievous self. I had a particular interest in science so when I heard my scientist friends were going on a night fly mission I was, of course, intrigued.
Naturally, I asked to accompany them on their journey. For a vampire, I can assure you, the night sky was both fascinating and frightening. It was pitch black above us but my eyes easily adjusted to the darkness. The stars were like bright gems on black velvet and the night was hushed, almost reverent in its depth.
As we soared through the night I was amazed by the stillness of the star-studded sky. As my scientist friends murmured amongst themselves, I couldn't help but think how funny it would be to prank them in such an exalted space—that was what I was here for after all. So when a shooting star flashed across the horizon I had a genius idea.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do. As stealthily as I could I started to gather rocks and other gardening materials. After I had enough I started to construct a sculptural installation in the shape of a vampire. I thought it would be a hilarious way to frighten my friends and give a little nod to our vampiric past.
Once I had the installation completed I returned to the plane and whispered the word “monster” into my friend’s ear. His eyes bulged out of his head when he saw what I had done! Everyone gasped and a few screamed as they realized I had created a “monster” in the night sky.
We all had a good laugh at my expense. Afterwards, the entire experience made me wonder if I could take this same creativity and apply it into my Martian dream. If I could build a space vampire sculpture then just think of all the other things I could make!
Alas, for now I must content myself with a few more pranks in my usual Transylvania. Who knows what other adventures await me down the line!

A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
