Today was Laogis Week in Transylvania, and I was looking forward to it like no other. Laogis is an old tradition that involves vampires gathering from the far corners of Transylvania to compete in Heath Chess (it’s like chess, but with a twist – you guess what the twist is!), and nobody can quite remember when the tradition first began.
After a day of eating lots of stress (yum!), I made my way from my hilltop home to the Laogis arena. I was excited for the competition, and my blood was humming with anticipation when I saw all the other vampires gathered to compete.
The first match was between my old friend Vaza from the mountains in the east and Gorski from the coastline. Vaza (who has a bit of a reputation for playing dirty) immediately jumped to a huge lead by playing a series of risky moves. Gorski desperately scrambled to try and catch up, but eventually was forced to resign the match. Even though I was cheering for Vaza, it was quite the situation – at least so they say.
My match was next – I faced off against Szabas, a loud and boisterous vampire who was actually quite a formidable player. We played` a classic game of Heath Chess – no tricks, just pure skill. After several moves, he managed to trap me in a corner, and I was forced to accept defeat.
Despite my loss, I had a great time at the Lagois tournament. I socialized with friends and Terrorized (yes, with a capital “T”) plenty of people, and was delighted to discover I had the highest score of all the vampires! But the real highlight of the night was when, in between games, I sang a duet with Vaza (we have excellent singing voices) of a classic rock song from Mars. What an awesome night!
A distant cousin of Dracula, Mootzulea grew up in the hills of Transylvania, mainly in the area of Sibiu.
He knows a lot of jokes but is very determined into battles. He is passionate about science and has a lot of scientist friends. Therefore, you will have an increased production of scientists. He dreams of going to Mars one day.
