I stared groggily at the clock, hardly believing it. Five pm already. How had the day slipped away from me? I guess I was just too busy hustling, trying to keep the money rolling in. The usual way—scary clients, shady deals and a hectic schedule. It seemed like an eternity since I'd last had some time to myself. I got up and stretched, deciding to explore the area a little bit.
The sun was just starting to set, and the sky was a mix of orange, pink and purple. I was almost sucked in by the beauty of the moment, but then remembered I had other plans. I quickly changed into my favorite velvet top and highest stilettos before heading towards the mall.
The mall was filled with people, and the usual plethora of shops lined the streets. I quickly dusted off my marketing skills and started talking to the local vendors. Before I knew it, I was negotiating discounts and making a few extra coins in the process. I was about to go for yet another round of bargaining when a voice startled me.
“I thought I'd find you here. Doing your usual crazy stuff,” it said.
I turned around and smiled, recognizing the tall figure in front of me. It was my friend Kelly.
“Well, I guess I'm not the only one with a wild midnight routine,” I said.
Kelly laughed and twirled me around. “Who has time for sleep when we can do this?” she said.
We wandered around the mall for hours, exchanging jokes and secrets until even the stars disappeared. Finally, we decided to call it a night, but that isn't to say the fun stopped. We ended up booking a night flight around town, the stars twinkling all around us.
This is my kind of day, I thought as I watched the lights from the city below us. I felt far away from the hustle, but still alive and connected to the world. I smiled, knowing I wasn't alone in my weird but wonderful journey.
