Tonight was intense. After partying with my girlfriends all night, I determined to have some alone time and fly away from them. I left my house, in search of a peaceful place, and headed for the stars. I flew swiftly through the night, the velvet sky my only companion as I soared ever higher.
Onward and upward I rode, feeling the full power of the wind beneath my wings. Suddenly, I noticed a strange glimmer of light up ahead, like a star that had returned from its journey to the heavens. I flew towards it, mesmerised by its surreal, beguiling beauty, and found myself entering a dream-like place of my own.
It turns out this place was full of creatures like me - vampires, almost small enough to pass for fairies. One of them, a powerful looking creature with a head too big for its body, stepped forward and said that I was the next vampire Ambassador.
"Welcome, Mary Read," he said. Before I knew it, I was being led away to meet with the other ambassadors. We discussed politics, mapping out a complicated peace treaty between vampires and the humans on the other side of the world. We laughed and we argued, we argued and we laughed, and then I was back in the air again.
The night flew by in a blur, and before I knew it I was soaring back over the city, ready to head back home. I alit from the sky, my wings heavy with newfound knowledge, and my heart heavy with the joy of finding my place in this world. I smiled to myself as I stepped out into the street - my new life had just begin.
